A state advertisement campaign, regarding the importance of vaccination against the Covid-19 pandemic, was abruptly halted, Monday, for two investigative media outlets; Documento newspaper and koutipandoras.gr website.
The sudden cut of state advertisement followed revelations made by Documento and koutipandoras.gr regarding the pedophile action of the former artistic director of the National Theater of Greece Dimitris Lignadis, as well as reports, that revealed that this is the third alleged pedophile related to the environment of the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
In March 2020, during the previous campaign regarding the pandemic, Documento and koutipandoras.gr were the only media outlets in Greece excluded from state advertisement.
The Council of Europe, international journalists associations and observatories had taken a stand on this issue.
This new obvious challenge proves, not only that an authoritarian regime, hostile to Press freedom, is in full opperation in Greece, but also the anti-democratic and authoritarian perception of the PM himself.
Documento and koutipandoras.gr have been the first news outlets in Greece to make revelations concerning the prime minister and his close environment.
The above mentioned outlets had revealed that Nikos Georgiadis, Mitsotakis’s Strategic Advisor and personal friend, was involved in child trafficking ring in Moldova. Those revelations had led Nikos Georgiadis to Greek Justice. He was convicted by the First Instance Court (the Court of Appeal that later examined the case did not take a position as the crimes were statute barred).
Documento also revealed that the prime minister’s wife was mentioned in the Paradise Papers, as owner of undeclared offshore companies, while her businesses in Greece were funded by anonymous financiers through offshore companies, while her husband Kyriakos Mitsotakis was president of New Democracy conservative party.
Documento also revealed that although Kyriakos Mitsotakis, had received a loan of hundreds of thousands of euros during the economic crisis in Greece, he did not repay the installments of his loan, while the bank did not terminate the loan.
Mr. Mitsotakis also has relations with the once powerful man of Novartis in Greece, Konstantinos Frouzis, who had been arrested for sexually harassing an 11-year-old girl. Konstantinos Frouzis, who is being investigated for the Novartis scandal in Greece, helped Mr. Mitsotakis in his campaign to become the leader of the conservative New Democracy party, by organizing private dinners at his house along with other business persons.
Apparently, according to Mr. Mitsotakis, Documento, must now pay for its revelations. However, the question at stake right now is not Documento and koutipandoras.gr. The most important aspect of this situation concerns the intense slamming that freedom of Press is currently receiving by the Greek government, and the shameless attempt to silence journalists.
UPDATE: On Monday afternoon, following reports about the abrupt halting of the program for the two outlets, the publisher was informed that the campaign will continue, apologizing for the inconvenience.

Μετά τις αποκαλύψεις της εφημερίδας Documento και koutipandoras.gr για την παιδοφιλική δράση του πρώην καλλιτεχνικού διευθυντή του Εθνικού Θεάτρου Δημήτρη Λιγνάδης και τα δημοσιεύματα που αποκάλυπταν ότι πρόκειται για τον τρίτο φερόμενο ως παιδόφιλο που σχετίζεται με το περιβάλλον του Πρωθυπουργού Κυριάκου Μητσοτάκη, η διαφημιστική καμπάνια που είχαν πάρει τα μέσα για τον εμβολιασμό των πολιτών για την πανδημία διακόπηκε. Στην προηγούμενη καμπάνια που αφορούσε την ενημέρωση για την πανδημία, το Documento και το koutipandoras.gr ήταν τα μοναδικά ΜΜΕ στην Ελλάδα που εξαιρέθηκαν.
Για την υπόθεση αυτή είχαν πάρει θέση το Συμβούλιο της Ευρώπης, δημοσιογραφικές ενώσεις και Παρατηρητήρια.
Η νέα πρόκληση αποδεικνύει, όχι μόνο τη λειτουργία ενός αυταρχικού καθεστώτος στην Ελλάδα που είναι εχθρικό απέναντι στην ελευθερία του Τύπου, αλλά και την ίδια την αντιδημοκρατική και αυταρχική αντίληψη του πρωθυπουργού.
Το Documento και το koutipandoras.gr έχουν πρωτοστατήσει σε αποκαλύψεις που αφορούν τον πρωθυπουργό και το περιβάλλον του.
Αποκάλυψαν πως ο Νίκος Γεωργιάδης, Στρατηγικός Σύμβουλος του Μητσοτάκη και προσωπικός του φίλος, είχε εμπλοκή σε κύκλωμα trafficking παιδιών στη Μολδαβία.
Οι αποκαλύψεις οδήγησαν τον Νίκο Γεωργιάδη στην ελληνική δικαιοσύνη και καταδικάστηκε σε πρώτο Βαθμό (το Εφετείο που εξέτασε την υπόθεση δεν πήρε θέση γιατί τα εγκλήματα είχαν παραγραφεί)
Το Documento αποκάλυψε επίσης πως η σύζυγος του πρωθυπουργού, συμμετείχε στα Paradise Papers έχοντας αδήλωτες off-shore εταιρείες, ενώ οι επιχειρήσεις της στην Ελλάδα χρηματοδοτήθηκαν όσο ο Κ. Μητσοτάκης ήταν πρόεδρος της ΝΔ από άγνωστους χρηματοδότες μέσω off-shore εταιρειών.
Το Documento επίσης αποκάλυψε ότι την περίοδο της κρίσης, ο Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης, ενώ είχε λάβει δάνειο εκατοντάδων χιλιάδων ευρώ, δεν πλήρωνε τις δόσεις του δανείου του, ενώ η τράπεζα δεν προχωρούσε σε καταγγελία του δανείου.
Ο κ. Μητσοτάκης έχει σχέσεις και με τον άλλοτε ισχυρό άντρα της Novartis στην Ελλάδα, ο οποίος σε ανύποπτο χρόνο είχε συλληφθεί για σεξουαλική παρενόχληση 11χρονου κοριτσιού. Ο Κωνσταντίνος Φρουζής ο οποίος εξετάζεται για το σκάνδαλο της Novartis βοήθησε τον κ. Μητσοτάκη στην προεκλογική του εκστρατεία για να αναλάβει αρχηγός του κόμματος της ΝΔ διοργανώνοντας με τον ίδιο και με επιχειρηματίες δείπνα στήριξής του στο σπίτι του.
Το Documento, σύμφωνα με τον κ. Μητσοτάκη πρέπει να πληρώσει για τις αποκαλύψεις του. Ωστόσο, το θέμα δεν είναι το Documento και το koutipandoras.gr, αλλά το χτύπημα που δέχεται η ελευθεροτυπία στην Ελλάδα και η προσπάθεια φίμωσης των δημοσιογράφων.
