Fourthiotis taken to trial for setting a death threat against Kostas Vaxevanis

Presenter and “trash-TV” star, Menios Fourthiotis is taken to trial regarding the “death contract” against the journalist and publisher of Documento, Kostas Vaxevanis. The charge for which Menios Fourthiotis is charged concerns the offense of inciting to commit a crime (Fourthiotis’s involvement in this case is punishable by a misdemeanor) with the trial set for June 2022. 

The case conserns the death threat that was set against Vaxevanis In April 2021, Vaxevanis revealed that he had received information that two individuals had reached out to warn him that there was a “price on his head” and that an individual whom the newspaper had made revelations about had taken out the contract for his and a colleague’s execution in the criminal underworld.

In December 2021 a key witness confirmed in an official testimony to the Greek police that trash-TV presenter Menios Fourthiotis had issued a murder contract against the publisher of Documento newspaper, journalist Kostas Vaxevanis. The testimony fully confirms the information that had reached Vaxevanis: That is, Menios Fourthiotis was in search of people in the underworld to execute a contract of execution against Vaxevanis and another person, but also to shoot his own house, so that he will also be considered a victim and hence, the authorities would place him again under police protection, since it had been removed a few days earlier.

The death threat against Vaxevanis was published only a month after the shocking murder of journalist Giorgos Karaivaz in Athens, which is still under investigation by the Greek authorities, although no information about the course of that investigation, has been made public.
